POMPEY fans dug deep into their pockets to help make Dorothy’s Dream come true.

Volunteers from The Rowans Hospice held a charity collection at the Pompey game at Fratton Park on Saturday, March 12.

Generous fans donated £505.72 to the Dorothy’s Dream appeal – which is trying to raise £1m to fund a service to support people to die in the comfort of their own homes.

Vanessa Gilding, from The Rowans Hospice was in charge of the bucket collection on the day. She said: ‘I was overwhelmed by the generosity of the Pompey fans and all the kind words they expressed about the charity and what a good cause it is. They weren’t just putting in bits of change, some people put notes in the buckets.’
