GOLFERS have raised more than £6,000 for a children’s charity.

Teams of golf enthusiasts from across the region gathered to take part in the Rainbow Centre’s annual tournament at South Winchester Golf Course.

Besides the full day’s golf, staff from the centre in Fareham ran competitions, prize draws and held an auction in the evening at a three course dinner at the Golf Club.

Community and events fundraiser Julie Woodward, said: ‘It was a fantastic day and we raised over £6,000.

‘This golf day is one of the first events taking place during our 21st anniversary year, so it is a fantastic start to this year’s fundraising.’

The winning team of golfers was from Portsmouth manufacturers, Rivitswade Ltd.
