PEOPLE are being encouraged to contribute to their local community with designs for a new mosaic.
The Broadlaw Mosaic Project has been created to place a mosaic in the newly- developed Broadlaw estate in Fareham to brighten up the area.
A total of nearly £10,000 has been provided in funding from the First Wessex Community Fund and from Fareham Borough Council.
Working with five local primary schools and one secondary school as well as adults, families and young people, the project allows the community to shape the new space.
The project is being run by the Ashcroft Arts centre in Fareham.
Charlotte Constantine, arts development officer from the centre, said: ‘Ashcroft is delighted to be involved with the project with First Wessex, local schools and the Broadlaw volunteers.
‘All their ideas and initial designs are so creative and original, it is a great way for the community to influence their area.’
The final designs will be laid down in the spring.
