A COUNCIL is supporting a weekend event which will see people cleaning up their area.

Fareham Borough Council is backing a campaign to get half a million people out and about clearing communities of litter.

As part of its support, the council is seeking volunteers to take part in an organised event at Stubbington Green on March 3 between 10am and 3pm. Businesses, schools and groups will be helping out on the day to replant shrub beds, pick up litter, sweep gullies, paint street furniture and sow wild flowers.

All equipment will be provided on the day.
