JUDGES from the South and South East in Bloom awards have paid a visit to the borough of Fareham.

Gardens in the town were on show to the judges who visited Fareham as part of the judging for the large town category for this year’s awards.

Fareham has a renowned reputation having won gold awards for the last eight years.

The judges got the opportunity to meet the officers, volunteers and huge numbers within the community
who contributed to putting the borough on the map for its horticultural excellence.

Councillor Connie Hockley, executive member for leisure and community, said: ‘The borough’s entry into the regional competition is always first class and this is down to the professional officers and dedicated Fareham in bloom co-ordinators who work with the community throughout the year.

‘I would like to thank them personally for all that they have achieved.

‘The borough was presented superbly and all participants who met with the judges did a sterling job presenting the entry.’
