SCORES of toys were donated at a leisure centre to a charity appeal to give disadvantaged children a joyful Christmas.

Fareham Leisure Centre, operated by Everyone Active in partnership with Fareham Borough Council, was a registered drop-off point for donations for the Wave 105 Cash Mission Christmas appeal.

The radio station, which airs from Segensworth, asked people to buy a present to donate to a disadvantaged child to make their Christmas a little bit brighter.

Staff at the centre were delighted to donate a trolley full of presents to presenter Steve Power last week.

General manager Ryan Grant said: ‘Christmas is a time for giving and we wanted to do our bit so we decided not to do our usual secret Santa and donate the gifts to the appeal instead.’
