IT WAS an exhausting ride but 44 cyclists tackled a 70-mile journey for charity.

Joined by the mayor of Fareham Cllr Mike Ford, the riders took part in the challenge to raise money for two organisations.

I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who took part and those who contributed significant sponsorship and support.

Cllr Mike Ford

Thirty-eight of the cyclists travelled around the Isle of Wight last weekend with the remaining six making a 21-mile round trip from Fishbourne to Bembridge.

The money raised will go to the Gosport and Fareham Inshore Rescue Service and the Dave Wellman Cancer Trust.

Cllr Ford said: ‘It was a terrific accomplishment.

‘I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who took part and those who contributed significant sponsorship and support.’
