A GROUP of young swimmers raised hundreds of pounds to go towards their training costs by packing shopping bags.

The Fareham Nomads Swimming Club spent Saturday, February 23 at the checkouts in Tesco’s supermarket, on Quay Street.

The group of swimmers and their parents were raising funds to help with their training and to pay for coaches to help with training sessions at Fareham Leisure Centre.

Fareham Nomads committee member Jenny Davies said: ‘In total the event raised £327.98, there were no expenses so all the money will go towards the training costs.’
