MARVELLOUS marrows and fabulous fuchsias were some of the vibrant entries on show at the Farlington and District Garden Club’s summer show.

The United Hall in Station Road was awash with colour on Saturday as the gardeners proudly showed off their produce.

Across 94 classes, entries included fruit and vegetable, dahlias, flowers and pot plants, photography and handicraft.

Gordon Fryer won best in show for his vibrant mixed garden flowers entry.

Ann Howells, chairwoman of the Farlington and District Garden Club said: ‘The entries are slightly down this year with the weather as it has been but we are amazed at how well people have managed to grow some wonderful produce.

‘The judges have said it was a very high standard this year and it’s absolutely incredible considering what it has been like for growing. It’s hard to say there’s a stand out entry this year because the standard is so high across all of the classes.’
