Those halcyon days when pen and paper just worked!

Children were in for a treat at Fort Nelson as they were entertained by a Punch and Judy show.

Throughout this week Fort Nelson, in Portsdown Hill Road, Fareham, is hosting activities for children during the Christmas break.

Yesterday several hundred children enjoyed watching a Punch and Judy show.

Mark Selwood, operations manager, said: 'It was a great day and people weren't put off by the weather.

'Children also carried out armour handling from medieval to modern day times.

'They also found out the origins of Christmas crackers and why we decorate trees.'
