FIREFIGHTERS were called to a suspected blaze aboard a 38-foot yacht at Haslar Marina, Gosport, on Saturday.

Crew manager James Buck of Gosport Fire Station said a fire engine from Gosport and one from Fareham were called to the marina at about 12.20pm, but no blaze was found aboard.

He said: ‘They said there was a fire and they were bringing it into dock. The engine compartment had flooded with fumes and smoke because they had forgotten to do something, but there wasn’t a fire.’
