FAREHAM Shopping Centre has been evacuated due to an electrical fire.

Scores of employees from the shops inside the shopping centre and shoppers were evacuated at 9.15am this morning.

Two fire engines attended the scene.

The fire is not thought to be serious and is under control.

It is thought to have been a small electrical fire which started at the back of the centre.

The shopping centre and nearby shops in West Street were evacuated as a precaution.

Employees were allowed back inside the shopping centre at approximately 9.30am with the shops opening shortly after.
