FIREFIGHTERS had to cut a driver free from his vehicle after he lost control and crashed into a parked car.

The accident happened on New Brighton Road, Emsworth, at 1.50pm yesterday.

A silver Ford Fiesta was making its way along the road when the driver lost control. It overturned and hit a parked Peugeot van at the junction with Wickor Way.

All three emergency services were sent to the incident.

Martin Elliott, watch manager at Havant fire station, said: ‘The car was on its side when we arrived and a guy was inside.

‘We needed to remove the boot and the rear side so that we could get him out and put him on a spinal board.

‘He was then taken to hospital by paramedics.’

Hampshire police said no arrests were made and the driver suffered a fracture to his arm.
