FIREFIGHTERS were called to put out a bin fire near the city’s seafront.

A unit from Southsea fire station was called to the area of the Blue Reef Aquarium at around 10pm last night.

People who use portable barbecues are being urged to ensure they are fully extinguished before disposal after one caused a fire.

The best way to ensure they will not burn is to douse them with water.
