Firefighters from Fareham and Wickham were called to a blaze at a set of stables in the early hours of this morning.

The stables, in Shedfield, were completely destroyed by the fire, which happened shortly after midnight.

Around 15 firefighters, from Fareham, Wickham and Botley, were able to extinguish the fire using two main jets, two hose reels, a water carrier and hydrant.

An animal rescue advisor also attended to assist with the moving of livestock in an adjacent field, and no animals were directly involved in the stable fire itself.

Fire crews left the scene shortly before 1.50am.
