FIREFIGHTERS are set to go on strike again this weekend, over an ongoing pension row.

Stations in Southsea, Cosham, Havant, Fareham, and Gosport, are planning to walk out between 6pm and 10pm on Friday and Saturday.

It will be the fifth time firefighters have walked out in the past two months, due to breakdown in talks with the government over changes of pushing the retirement age up from 55 to 60.

The Fire Brigades’ Union has raised concerns that moving the age would lead to firefighters losing their jobs if they failed fitness tests, forcing them to leave on reduced pensions.
