A WOMAN was rescued from the top of a roof by firefighters after going missing for nearly two hours.

It happened in the New Lane and Eastern Road area of Havant last night at around 8.45pm.

Police were called to a report of a missing person at around 6.50pm.

A ‘substantial’ number of officers were involved in hunting for the woman, a police control room supervisor said.

A dog unit was also being used to help track the woman, who was found uninjured.

A crew from Havant fire station were called to assist the police at the incident, near the railway line.

But the crew needed specialist equipment to retrieve the woman.

Southsea fire station’s aerial ladder platform was called up and the city crew used it to rescue the woman from the roof.
