FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze in a garage workshop in Bedhampton.

Crews from Havant and Cosham were called to the fire, in Maylands Road, at 6.20pm yesterday.

The garage owners were alerted when the smoke reached the smoke detector in their house.

The fire was put out by 6.40pm and only building materials are thought to have been destroyed.

Firefighters from Gosport also put out a moped when it exploded in Forton Road at 9.30pm.
