A FIRST floor flat was severely damaged in a blaze.

Three crews from Southsea were called out to tackle the fire in Campbell Road, Southsea, shortly before 6am today.

Eight firefighters fought the blaze in the four storey property.

Police are guarding the scene, where windows to the property were open, revealing the blackened interior.

The cause of the fire has not been revealed.

However it is understood that no-one was injured.
