A FIRE engine was called to a small fire in a field.

A crew from Fareham went to tackle the blaze, off Catisfield Lane, Catisfield, shortly before 8pm yesterday and put out the burning rubbish which had been set alight.

Earlier in the day, a fire engine from Cosham was called to a haberdashery firm in New Lane, Havant. A crew headed for Butterick Company Limited but turned back as it was a false alarm.
