A FIRE tore through sheds, workshops and garages in Gosport.

Firefighters were called to battle the blaze at 5pm yesterday and worked for an hour and a half to put it out.

The fire sent plumes of smoke billowing over the A32.

Crews from Fareham, Cosham, Havant and Gosport were sent to deal with the blaze.

The 32 firefighters and three officers used four breathing apparatus, two jets and two hose reels to control the fire.

The blaze ripped through sheds and workshops on Braermar Road and spread to garages on Fareham Road.
