A REPTILE tank is believed to be the cause of a flat fire in Gosport.

Firefighters were called to the flat above an Indian takeaway in Forton Road at about 3am yesterday.

The flat was empty apart from a vivarium, which is thought to have overheated.

Gosport’s crew manager Chris Daly said: ‘The flat was left empty – that was the only thing in the flat.’

No reptiles were found.
