FIRE crews were called to Portsmouth naval base last night after a small fire broke out on HMS Daring.

Three crews from Southsea and two from Cosham were called to the dockyard after reports of smoke on the decking compartment of the ship were received.

Two special equipment vehicles were also sent to the incident at 7.50pm yesterday.

When firefighters reached the dockyard they were told the incident was a small electrical fire that was being dealt with by firefighters within the dockyard.
