PEOPLE are being reminded to have their chimneys swept before lighting fires after firefighters were called out to a blaze in Rowlands Castle.

A chimney caught fire yesterday at 3.50pm at a house in Dunnock Close.

Firefighters from Havant were called to deal with the fire, and they used water hoses on chimney rods to put it out by 4.10pm.

A spokesman urged people to sweep their chimneys.
