FIREFIGHTERS tackled a fire in a bedroom at a house in Gosport.

A crew from Fareham and Gosport went to Brading Avenue, Bridgemary, at about 5.10pm yesterday.

The people living at the house had got out of the house by the time firefighters arrived. The blaze was confined to a first-floor bedroom.

Ventilators were used to get rid of the smoke and it was safe by 6.10pm.

Paramedics also went but no-one was hurt. A spokesman for Hampshire Fire and Rescue said the cause of the fire was being investigated.
