Fire crews were called to tackle a blaze in a scrap metal yard today.

The incident took place in the yard in Quay Lane, Elson.

Workers had been welding before materials caught light.

Firefighters from Gosport fire station were called to the scene at 9.50am.

They used one pump, a hose reel and a jet to put out the fire by 10.50am.

No damage was caused to any of the buildings and nobody was hurt.
