Fire walk sees Manor House pub named Best Business winner in We Can Do It awards

A PUB that raised thousands of pounds for charity by walking on hot coals was named winner of the Best Business category.

The Manor House pub won the title after raising £3,124 for the Little Heroes Cancer Trust.

Employees and customers of the pub, in Drayton, took part in the fire-walking event supported by family and friends.

One of the people who did the walk was Shirley Heazelton who collected the We Can Do It award on behalf of the pub and those who took part.

She said: ‘It is really great to have won.

‘It was such a lovely event and the pub was full of customers all giving their support.

‘The walk was scary before we started but it was really good and great to raise a lot of money.’

She added: ‘It was fantastic to have won and the landlord of the Manor House will be thrilled to be named the winner.’

Runner-up for Best Business was SSE in Havant.

Staff from the company cycled across the country starting from Perth, in Scotland. They were raising money for Sam’s Haven.
