A CAR burst into flames outside a house.

Firefighters from Portchester were called to the blaze on West Street yesterday afternoon.

The bonnet of the vehicle, which was parked on a drive, was engulfed in flames when the crew arrived.

They used breathing apparatus and a hose reel to put out the car quickly.

The engine compartment and other sections of the car were severely damaged although no-one was injured in
the incident.
