TWO fire engines were called to a motorway slip road this morning after smoke was pouring from a van.

Crews from Cosham and Havant went to the southbound sliproad off the A3(M), approaching the Rusty Cutter roundabout at Bedhampton, at about 7.20am.

There was no fire, however, and firefighters found that the van’s engine had overheated and blown.

No action was taken and recovery of the vehicle was arranged.

Traffic flow was not affected.
