FIREFIGHTERS were sent to a house in Southsea tonight amid fears that a fire had trapped people inside.

The blaze was reported at 8.20pm in the hallway of a three-storey home in Selsey Avenue.

When the call came in there were fears that people were stuck inside the house but when firefighters arrived they found that everyone was safe.

The fire was put out by 8.50pm. It’s not yet known what started it.
