FIREFIGHTERS were called to a tumble dryer on fire.

It happened in Denhill Close, on Hayling Island, at 2.25pm yesterday, and left the home smoke damaged.

Nine firefighters from Havant fire station and Hayling Island’s retained crew went to the blaze.

They used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel to tackle it.

The fire was out by 2.45pm when the crews left.
