FIREFIGHTERS were called out after a fire started in a ditch in Farlington.

Crews from Cosham and Havant put out the blaze, which happened in a ditch between Beverley Grove and Glebe Park Avenue at 4.41pm yesterday.

It is believed the fire was caused by a pile of rubbish that had been dumped.

It took firefighters 45 minutes to tackle the flames, which had spread to nearby bushes and trees.
