A FIRE broke out on the ground floor of a house in Portsmouth.

Around 20 firefighters from Southsea and Cosham tackled the blaze in Derby Road, North End.

Six breathing apparatus were worn, three hosereels and two jets were used to extinguish the fire. The property was ventilated of smoke. No-one was injured during the blaze.

The call came in at 9.20pm and the fire was out by 10pm.

The cause is unknown at this stage.
