Wounded service personnel are set to benefit after a Portsmouth firm presented proceeds from its most successful charity golf day so far.

Chartered surveyors McAndrew Martin handed over a cheque for £2,569.07 raised at the sporting extravaganza in aid of Help for Heroes.

Dedicated staff at the firm organised the event in association with Southsea-based ADN Financial Solutions at Waterlooville Golf Club earlier this year.

Ian Lee, a director at McAndrew Martin, and ADN
director Dan Smith presented the money to Help for Heroes Hampshire volunteers James and Anita Meldrum.

James, who served in the Royal Navy, said: ‘Every penny of this money will help wounded heroes when they need it the most.

‘Our deepest thanks to McAndrew Martin, ADN Financial Solutions and all those who supported the golf day.’

A total of £5,138 was raised when 64 golfers from property-related companies
took part in the charity golf day.

Ian said: ‘Help for Heroes has been one of our main charity beneficiaries for some time now.

‘The golf day was a fantastic success and we were delighted to be able to present such a superb amount to James and Anita for the charity.’

The twenty-strong McAndrew Martin, which is based at the Fairway Business Centre office, has raised nearly £10,000 for good causes over the past two years.

The remainder of the funds from the golf day were in aid of the Ickle Pickles charity, which helps premature and seriously ill babies.
