THE first meeting of a group of Women’s Institutes was deemed a big success.

Around 130 members from Gosport, Solent Evening, Holbrook, Alverstoke and Stokes Bay WIs filled the Gosport Masonic hall for the first meeting of the Peninsula Group.

As well as a performance from comic writer former journalist Judy Theobold, the evening saw a performance from singer Katie Rogers who entertained with a number of jazz songs.
