A CAR was completely destroyed in a blaze.

The Vauxhall Astra was parked in London Road, Portsmouth, when the fire was started by the the phone charger, which was plugged in to the cigarette lighter.

A crew from Cosham fire station were called when the owner went to get in the car and saw the smoke.

Flames quickly engulfed the car and destroyed it.

The incident happened just at 2.23pm and the crew returned at 3.09pm.
