A FIRM of solicitors from Whiteley is urging business owners to put in place policies to prevent unauthorised absences during the Olympics.

Moore Blatch employment expert Katherine Maxwell said: ‘Initial research suggests that more than a quarter of 16 to 34-year-olds will consider taking unauthorised time off so that they do not miss out on the games.’

She said employers should take a flexible approach to granting leave.
