Flipping for Mayor’s charities

SHROVE Tuesday looks like being flipping great fun.

Catering students from South Downs College will be cooking up a treat on Pancake Day in Waterlooville town centre.

Havant Borough Council usually holds a Pancake Day race in the shopping centre every Shrove Tuesday but that can not go ahead this year due to major work in the precinct.

Instead students have volunteered to raise money for local charities by cooking pancakes for shoppers and workers to feast on.

Funds raised will support the Mayor of Havant’s Charity Appeal which benefits The Rowan’s Hospice At Home Appeal and The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

The marquee will be in the town centre on February 21 from 11am to 1.30pm.
