MORE than 600 posies were sold by a flower club to raise money for a good cause.

Members of Fareham Flower Club, which meets at Wallington Village Hall, spent the day in Fareham Shopping Centre making the displays the day before Mothering Sunday.

The club, which holds a sale every year in the centre, sold the daffodil posies cheaply with all profits going to the Hampers and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

Sandy Mitchell, from the club, said: ‘It went very well and we sold out really early. It was very popular with us selling over 600 posies.’

Mrs Mitchell thanked all who bought the posies, and said that around £600 will be donated.

It is the eighth year the club has held a Mothering Sunday sale and it plans to hold another for charity in December.
