HUNDREDS of pounds were given to a food bank charity when a supermarket and a Rotary Club teamed up.

A cheque for £350 was given to Basic Bank, in Fareham, which had been raised by the Fareham Rotary Club and Sainsbury’s Broadcut.

The Fareham Rotary Club helped Sainsbury’s Broadcut to collect for its charity of the year.

Philip Rutt, from Basic Bank, said: ‘It’s just the next example in a very long line of generosity. It all makes a difference.’

Linda Langdon, from Sainsbury’s, said: ‘We’ve been very pleased to support them.’
