A FORMER landlord turned author is auctioning his new book in aid of the Tom Prince Cancer Appeal.

Tim Atkins, of Milton, is selling copies of his thrilling novel The Godheard part one: The Darkness Comes via internet auction site eBay from Monday.

Mr Atkins, who used to run the Old Canal Inn, in Southsea, said all proceeds he makes from the sale will go towards the appeal.

He became good friends with Tom’s mum and dad, Clint and Adele, during his time behind the bar.

He said: ‘While I was running the pub, they were starting the appeal and I promised them when I got my first novel published I would auction it off to raise valuable money for the charity.’

The novel has been described as Stephen King writing The Da Vinci Code.

The winning bidder will receive a signed copy of the novel, a baseball cap, a t-shirt and a ceramic mug.

To bid, type in the ID number 330654834989 on eBay from Monday.
