FRED Dinenage presented an awards evening to recognise people from across East Hampshire who have achieved sporting glory.
The broadcaster, from Hambledon, attended the East Hampshire Sports Awards at the Old Thorns Manor Hotel, near Liphook.
Among the winners was 16-year-old Olivia Breen, a City of Portsmouth runner and a bronze medallist in the 100m relay at the Paralympic Games in London.
She won the Junior Disability Sportswoman of the Year award.
She gave a moving presentation on her experiences of London 2012.
This was followed by the award ceremony with trophies and certificates presented by Pat Seward, the chairman of East Hampshire District Council.
She said: ‘2012 was a great year for sport in Britain and East Hampshire had its fair share of success.
‘Fred Dinenage is a great host and being joined by a torchbearer and Paralympic bronze medallist made the evening extra special.’
‘But for every successful sportsperson, there is a large group of people working behind the scenes to make their success possible, and these awards recognise the coaches, officials and volunteers too.’
Among the prizewinners were: Petersfield Town Juniors FC, rugby player Joe Gwyther, tennis player Tegan Louw, volleyball player Jodi Hill, horse rider Peter Charles MBE, trampoliner Daniel Johnson, and wheelchair tennis player Peter Norfolk OBE.
The official of the year went to Anne Flethcer, of Hampshire Athletics Association.
In the seniors category, the winners were cyclist Tim Brant-Coles and horse rider Alice Oppenheimer.
