A FREE information day regarding oil and gas exploration in the south of England will take place later this month.

The event has been organised by West Sussex County Council in response to concerns from residents about a lack of available information relating to oil and gas extraction and exploration, including fracking.

The event will take place on Saturday, June 21 at Pulborough Village Hall, in West Sussex, between 9.30am and 4pm.

Representatives will include the Environment Agency, Health and Safety Executive, Department for Energy and Climate Change, as well as the county council. Representatives from the South Downs National Park Authority are also expected.

Representatives of local anti-fracking groups have also been invited to host an information stand. Due to limited capacity within the hall people are asked to confirm their attendance by emailing oilandgas@westsussex.gov.uk.
