OLDER people will be given free taster sessions to help them use the internet.

Age UK Portsmouth will be offering the classes as part of Age UK National’s efforts to bring people together online.

People are invited to attend two taster sessions to see if they would like to sign up to regular classes.

A session will take place on Thursday, March 22, at the Paulsgrove Learning and Leisure Centre, Allaway Avenue, Paulsgrove, from 10am to noon.

And there will also be one on Friday, March 23, at the Bradbury Centre, Kingston Road, Portsmouth, from 11am to 3pm.

The sessions will be a chance for ‘silver surfers’ to discover social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook.

And they can experience computer gaming such as solitaire and chess – both of which help learners develop the hand-eye co-ordination needed to use a mouse.

To find out more about the sessions call the Paulsgrove centre on (023) 9221 5525 or the Bradbury Centre on (023) 9286 2121.
