HARVEY Ashworth was due to enter his very first Junior Great South Run on Saturday – but then tragedy struck in July this year.

Why the 11-year-old died suddenly in his sleep is still a mystery which haunts his friends and family, but while waiting for answers they were determined to do something in his memory.

His dad Luke Ashworth, 33, of Fleet End Road, in Warsash, said: ‘We decided to form The Harvey Army to raise money for his favourite charity

‘Harvey was such a caring boy and he loved Naomi House and was always trying to do thing to help them.’

He added: ‘Harvey watched from the sidelines while I ran three Great South Runs and couldn’t wait until it was his turn. Then he sadly passed away before he got the chance. But I know he would like what we did; it was a brilliant race and there was loads of support along the way.’
