A GROUP of friends are planning to visit all 20 Premier League football grounds in 24 hours.

Dan Rourke and some of his close friends have organised a trip around the country that will see them drive to every top-flight stadium in English football in just one day.

The 31-year-old, from Whiteley, plays for Medina FC and is a big football fan.

Joined by 10 of his friends, all from the same Sunday league team, Dan will start in Swansea at the Liberty Stadium, and finish in Southampton at St Mary’s.

The bid will also take in Cardiff, Liverpool, Manchester, Sunderland, Newcastle, Hull, Birmingham, Stoke, West Bromwich, Norwich and London.

Dan said: ‘We needed to find the quickest route around the country so we thought it would be best to start in Swansea and then travel to Cardiff.

‘We will then go up north to get the Manchester and Liverpool clubs and then head to the midlands for Aston Villa.

‘The trickiest bit will be getting through London so we are working out the best way to travel and in which order.

‘We plan to reach it late at night so it will hopefully be okay.

‘The last stadium will be Southampton’s because it is close to where we all live.’

The inspiration for Dan to organise the event was to raise money.

He is hoping to rake in £1,000 for the Miscarriage Association charity.

Dan and his wife, Charlotte, lost a baby to a miscarriage and they want to say thank you to the people who helped them through it. ‘Last year, we lost a baby and it was a difficult time for us,’ added Dan.

‘But we had great support from people around us and we want to make sure that other people have that sort of support.

‘We have had to go through it ourselves so we know what its like. Hopefully we can reach our target.’

The group will start the race against time at 10am on April 8.
