TWO friends are cycling 300 miles to raise cash for a children’s charity.

Ian Loveland, 28, of Heritage Way, Priddy’s Hard, Gosport, and pal Matthew O’Connor, 25, of High Street, Lee-on-the-Solent, are riding from London to Paris.

The pair are taking on the challenge in April to support Peterborough toddler Daisy Wheeler, three, a family friend of Ian, who suffers from infantile spasms, a rare childhood epilepsy, and cannot sit unaided, crawl, walk or hold her toys – but she can smile.

Ian said: ‘Daisy is really close to our hearts.

‘We spotted a London to Paris bike ride and just thought it would be a good idea. We don’t think it is now we’ve started it.

‘We’re doing it for Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, which helps seriously ill children with epilepsy, blood disorders and brain injuries.’

The pair have raised £2,400 and want to hit a target of £2,800. Donate at justgiving.com/teamdaisy2013
