KIDS got crafty at a free sewing class at the Love Southsea Market.

The session was run by Alexandra Smithers, who also had a stall at the market.

She showed keen youngsters how to stitch pretty hearts while their parents had a look around the stalls, all of which are hosted by local artists and producers.

Louise Whitmore, founder of Love Southsea, said: ‘The sewing club was great. The hearts that the children made were lovely and they all concentrated and worked very hard on them.

‘It was really nice to see them so keen to learn a new skill, especially because it’s something that people don’t really do these days.’

The next Love Southsea Market takes place on March 4, in the Square Tower, Old Portsmouth, where there will be a free singing and dancing workshop for toddlers called Jiggy Wrigglers.
