WORK to improve a recycling centre is due to be completed today.
The household waste recycling centre in Grange Road, Gosport, is expected to resume full service after four months of redevelopment works.
There is now a longer lane for people who are waiting to enter the site and a new exit lane to improve traffic getting in and out of the centre.
It has also been given a new layout, with more bin bays, parking spaces and waste storage areas.
Councillor Mel Kendal, who is in charge of environment issues at Hampshire County Council, said: ‘I would like to thank residents for their patience while the site has been operating a restricted service and I hope they will be pleased with the new facility.
‘The investment we have made in improving the site will help residents to recycle more conveniently and reduce waiting times to enter the facility at busy periods.’
Gosport’s recycling centre was the third busiest in Hampshire last year and it received more than 14,500 tonnes of waste.
