BUSINESSES are being urged to donate prizes to a raffle in aid of John’s Florida Dream.

It’s part of a three-day fundraiser in the Green Posts, London Road, North End, to raise money for the charity which sends children with cystic fibrosis to Disneyland in Florida.

Over the three days of September 31, and October 1 and 2, there will be live bands, a disco, children’s entertainment, stalls, balloon modelling, fairground rides, and entertainer, and much more going on inside the pub.

Landlord Christian Parker said: ‘It will be a whole weekend of fun for all the family.

‘There will be non-stop activities outside in the garden and a lot to keep all ages entertained.’

Mr Parker, 35, hopes to raise between £4,000 to £5,500 – enough to send one child with CF and their parents to Florida, along with all the additional care they need.

John’s Florida Dream was founded by Marie Palmer in 2005 after her son John died from CF aged 35, leaving behind a request to send a child with CF to Disneyland and enough money for them to go.
